FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- DAHLIA TUBER SHIPPING -
Our tubers are carefully selected from the healthiest and most vibrant plants, ensuring you get the best possible start for your dahlia journey.
All tubers will be sent via Express Australia Post. Shipping will be based on weight. Unfortunately I cannot ship to WA, NT, TAS or internationally due to biosecurity laws.
Only viable tubers with eyes will be sent to you, meaning shipping will not begin until end September when they start to wake up and can be seen easily. You will be notified by email when they are ready to be shipped.
For the locals who choose pick up at check out, an email and sms will be sent when your tubers are ready to pick up from our farm.
In the unfortunate event the tubers arrive damaged, please take photos of them and send to brooke@charlestonfarm.com.au within 48 hours of receiving your package. A replacement tuber/s will be provided if available or where deemed appropriate, a refund given.
If for some reason our tubers do not store well prior to shipping, you will be notified ASAP to arrange a substitute tuber or a refund.
Growing guidelines will be sent with your order to assist in storing and growing your dahlias, however Charleston Farm take no responsibility for the tubers once they are in your hands.
- FLOWER SUBSCRIPTIONS -
How fresh are the flowers?
All flowers are harvested from our flower field either the night before or the morning of delivery/pick up. Super fresh!
What flowers will I receive?
You will only receive flowers that are in season. Eg. we may give you Ranunculus in September but you won’t get them in February as they will be out of season.
Can I choose the flowers?
All flowers for subscriptions are by farmer selection. So we will choose and cut flowers where blooms are healthy and at their best.
What size options are there?
Small and Medium.
Small is anywhere between 5-15 stems. Retail $25
Medium is approximately 10-30 stems. Retail $50
Stem numbers will vary due to possible inclusion of specialty flowers (ie ranunculus, dahlias) that cost more.

How long will my flowers last?
Different flowers have different vase life. Eg. Dahlias last 5-7 days, Snapdragon 7-10 and Ranunculus 8-10. Follow the instructions that come with your blooms for best vase life practise.
Where do I pick up from?
Subscriptions are available to be picked up from the farm gate in Charleston within the hours provided closer to the designated day. A reminder sms with the address will be sent before and on the day of pick up. Flowers not picked up on their designated day will be forfeited and therefore donated.
Can I have my flowers delivered?
Yes and it will be hand delivered!
Delivery is free within 20kms of Charleston.
What if I am not home for a delivery?
Please leave a bucket of water out in a shady area for your flowers to go in. Or ask your neighbour to take them inside until you are home. Those hot summer days can really damage your flowers if left outside.
I am going overseas the week I am due to get my flowers. How do I change the date?
Please contact Brooke to arrange a better day for pick up/delivery. Alternatively someone else can pick them up to enjoy or you can organise for them to be delivered as a gift to someone special.
